SUMMER may be fading into autumn but there was a late bloom of colour in Ainsworth Parish Church at the weekend.
The village church holds a flower festival every two years and this year, the theme was "Inspirations".
And pictured admiring her rainbow-coloured floral display, entitled a God's Flower, is Jeanette Fawcett.
The event ran from last Friday to Monday (Sept 7-9), and attracted hundreds of visitors, including Canon WR Hartley, who was the guest preacher.
A craft fair, book stall, cafe and musical entertainment by the New Life Singers, all added to the success of the event, but one of the highlights came on Sunday morning when the vicar, the Rev Alan Flaherty, who has been very ill, gave his first service for 15 weeks.
Mrs Venitia Flaherty said: "It was a marvellous festival and everyone worked hard to make it a success."
