STOP press! Young people in East Bury are set to make their own headlines.
Those aged between ten and 25 are being recruited to start a community website and a regular magazine for the area.
And they can build up valuable skills in website design and maintenance, photography, research, writing, editing and general computer use.
Organisers hope the project will also foster better understanding and communication between young people and the rest of their community.
Stuart Kelley, project co-ordinator, said: "These publications will be aimed at the whole community and not just young people.
"They will promote events, culture, businesses and opportunities in East Bury, as well as looking at the problems of the area and how change can be brought about.
"The project gives young people the chance to be involved with a worthwhile and enjoyable activity which will help them and others.
"We are looking for people to get involved now, so if you are interested in designing a website or producing a magazine, then get in touch and get involved!"
The project is based at Topping Fold Library, Topping Fold Road, Bury, and has been made possible thanks to a partnership between SRB5 and Bury libraries.
To get involved, contact Stuart, or Elizabeth Binns, on 0161 253 5885, or email S.P.Kelley@bury.gov.uk
