BLACKPOOL ended their Bay 96.9 Northern Premier League in fine style at Stanley Park on Saturday with a convincing 26-run win over Kendal.
Batting first, Blackpool made only a modest 109 all out with Andy Kenyon making a top score of 42 from 93 balls with three fours. Only Richard Lamb, with 23, of the other batsmen reached double figures as Kendal professional Kabir Khan returned magnificent season's best figures of 8-31.
Blackpool's professional Marcus Sharp replied in kind with a season's best return of 6-35 as Kendal were bowled out for just 83 to lose by 26 runs. And this after the Cumbrians had reached 49 for the loss of only two wickets!
Simon Little made the top score of 28 but no-one else could come to terms with Sharp's superb seam bowling as he took the last three wickets, including two in two balls, while only six runs were added. He was ably assisted by figures of 3-18 from left arm spinner Chris Barrow.
Blackpool's win ensured the side of a Lancashire Cup place for next season.
