ANDY Wyatt may not be a familiar name now but it soon will be to Blackburn and Darwen folk -- when they wake up with him.
As the presenter of the flagship breakfast show, thousands will wake up to the dulcet tones of the 22-year-old from Monday as Blackburn and Darwen's very own radio station is launched.
The Burn will broadcast on 106fm for a 28-day trial period and will feature a blend of local news, sports and classic music from the past four decades.
Station organisers promise its appeal will cater for all communities and carry dedicated shows for Asian listeners at the weekend.
Andy, of Belthorn, has his sights set firmly on the younger scale of the market. He said: "It's a great honour to the breakfast show and I'm definitely excited about it. I've got a lot of ideas. It's going to be fresh with a lot of good tunes. It will be aimed at the younger ones but won't be too over the top for the older listeners."
Andy has only recently completed his degree in TV and Radio at Salford University -- for which he got a 2:1 -- although he is more than qualified for his presenter status.
Following stints on hospital radio at Blackburn's Queen's Park Andy has worked on GMR and behind the scenes on local television. But he believes he has found his real vocation on the airwaves.
He said: "This is the job I really want to do, at least for the next 10 years. It's going to be great."
