At the age of thirty-seven, Enid Atkinson's world was shattered when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Always a big lass she turned to comfort eating during chemo treatment and her weight rocketed to over 20 stone and her clothes to size 28.
But after tackling her cancer, super slimmer Enid, now 41, decided to work on her weight problem and in 18 months shed half her bodyweight.
She is now a stunning 10st 5lb sylph-like and thrilled with her new size 12 look. Who wouldn't be?
What determination and courage, and what a winner she is.
Enid's story was told this month in the Rosemary Conley Diet and Fitness magazine, whose regime she followed, just in time for the Tickled Pink Campaign which starts on Monday and raises cash for Breast Cancer Care.
Unsurprisingly Enid, from Leigh, is an avid worker for the Breast Cancer Campaign and has completed a month-long sponsored slim which raised £700, and took part in a Race for Life event in Blackpool and raised a further £800.
Breast cancer and being overweight play a big part in many women's lives, Enid has hopefully managed to conquer both and now wants to be as healthy as possible.
She's a shining example to us all (especially me) who promised to diet at the beginning of the year but hasn't had the willpower or backbone! Until now!
