CASTLE Cement announced that it wanted to build a £4m gas cleaning system after facing pressure to clean up by the Environment Agency.
Bosses said that the system would remove 90 per cent of sulphur dioxide, plus half of the amounts of dust and ammonia found in chimney gasses.
