BACUP'S failure to hold on to a lead cost them two points at Formby in the NWCL Division Two.
Brent Peters' side conceded a goal from a set piece just minutes after they had taken the lead.
But the manager said his side only deserved a point. "We didn't deserve to win but we didn't deserve to lose so a draw was a fair result," said Peters.
Formby, who were top of the league going into the match, were the stronger side in the first half but Bacup could have taken the lead on the stroke of half time through Ian McClelland.
The defences were on top in the second half but Bacup eventually took the lead on 73 minutes through Jason Lanns, who converted a McClelland cross.
But just five minutes later Formby were back on level terms after Bacup failed to clear their lines from a corner.
RESULT: FORMBY...1 BACUP...1
Bacup are at home to Padiham tomorrow night.
