BOLTON defender Simon Charlton today predicted that Wanderers will bounce back from the disappointment of their first Premiership defeat.
"We have the resolve to get a result at Blackburn," the in-form Reebok full-back warned rivals Rovers ahead of tonight's Ewood derby.
Charlton admits Wanderers were bitterly disappointed but certainly not daunted after Saturday's 1-0 home defeat at the hands of his former club, Southampton.
And nothing the cynics or the critics say in the meantime will undermine their confidence.
"We knew this day was always going to come," he said with a philosophical air. "It's unfortunate that it came against who it did because maybe these points are the ones that are going to be important when you look at who's going to be down there at the end of the season.
"But it's all about how we respond to it and we will be ready for the battle tonight, which it is sure to be because local derbies always are.
"But if we approach it the right way there's no reason why we shouldn't get something from it.
"People are going to say the bubble has burst. But for all the lads and the management care, they can say what they want. It really doesn't bother us what they've been saying about us since we got promotion.
"When they write you off after the Cardiff game - as they did do - I don't think the lads pay any attention to what the so-called experts say."
