PLANNING permission has been given for an extension over a garage workshop to form residential accommodation at Arches Cottage, Main Street, Sawley.
The application sought planning permission and listed building consent to alter the dwelling to build over the garage and to form an additional bedroom on the first floor.
Ribble Valley Borough Council's planning committee heard that the proposal has been amended to remove the gable windows and to install roof lights in the rear elevation.
The planning department received three letters of objection regarding a reduction in privacy, devaluation of property and noise disturbance.
Planning officer John Macholc told the committee that an extra condition, relating to the size of the gable window, had been added to his recommendations to approve the application.
Members of the planning committee agreed to give the development the go-ahead.
