THE inquest into the death of toddler Aaron Reynolds, who died when a fire broke out at his home in Rawtenstall, will be held at Reedley Magistrates Court next Thursday.
His mum, Sally and partner Graham Gardiner, are expecting to attend the inquest and evidence from fire investigation officers will be heard as to what is believed to have caused the fire.
The three-year-old had been put to bed at his home in Lime Tree Grove by his mum on August 7.
About 15 minutes later, Sally and Graham were alerted by neighbours to a fire in the house.
It started in Aaron's bedroom and Graham made five attempts to fight his way through the flames and smoke to rescue the toddler, but was beaten back by the heat.
When firefighters from Rawtenstall put out the blaze they found the young boy's body in the bedroom.
After the inquest, Graham and Sally will arrange a cremation for Aaron and then plan at some stage to fly out to Thailand.
They had planned to get married in Thailand this month and, of course, Aaron would have been there.
Now they are still planning to make the trip and take Aaron's ashes with them so they can be scattered into the sea, following the marriage ceremony.
A tree is to be planted and possibly a bench installed at the East Lancashire Railway where Aaron, who was an avid fan of Thomas the Tank Engine, used to go regularly to watch the trains.
