CUSTOMERS and staff at Asda's Blackburn store have already raised £2,000 towards the American disaster fund.
A fund was started the day after the disaster and money has been raised by customers and staff putting cash in buckets which have been placed on the check-outs .
A book of condolence has also been opened at the supermarket and Customer Service Manager Bernadette Houlahan said the comments made had been 'really touching. '
A fund-raising quiz night has also been organised by the superstore for September 25. The event is taking place at Longshaw Working Men's Club on Bryan Street and will take place at 8pm, everyone is welcome to come along.
