A BLACKBURN group is dancing with delight after scooping a top award -- at the first time of trying.
The adult squad -- aged 11-24 -- from the Dance and Performing Art Centre came top of its group and also went home as overall champions.
The girls, who train at Eanam Wharf, Blackburn, competed at the UK Alliance National Cheer Championships, at Blackpool Winter Gardens.
Graham Vernon, who along with Jayne Eaton coaches the girls, said: "Tensions were high but it was an enjoyable day and winning the main title was the icing on the cake. All the girls worked very hard and we are very proud of them.
The team is now in training for more competitions in the coming months.
