VIEWS are wanted on the future of community and recreation services in Burnley.
Should the council continue to provide play work schemes, community buildings, healthy lifestyles work, over fifties groups, equipment and minibus loan and the area caretaker scheme?
If so how could those services be improved and can they be delivered in new ways to achieve "best value" for local people?
For public consultation meetings are planned at which residents can go along and have their say.
The first will be on Monday at Burnley Wood community play centre, Dall street recreation ground at 6.30pm.
The next will be on Wednesday at Stoneyholme youth and community centre, Brougham Street starting at 5pm. Next Friday another meeting will be held at the Kibble Bank community centre, Underley Street at 5.30pm and the fourth will be at Stoops and Hargher Clough community centre, Venice Street on October 3 at 5pm.
The council is also writing to local organisations for their opinions.
The views and ideas put forward in the consultation periods will be reported to councillors when they make decisions about the future of the services.
