THE work of the Access Point to help residents of Stoneyholme and Daneshouse, Burnley, into further education, training or employment is to continue.
The facility in Brougham Street has so far helped 1,207 local people but the funding is due to run out next March.
A study into the service was carried out on behalf of Burnley Council who decided it should continue with a partnership approach to the delivery of its services.
Residents can now get expert help from all the relevant agencies on their doorstep.
Coun Steve Wolski, executive member for regeneration, said: "The Access Point has done an excellent job and these recommendations provide a way to strengthen the service and ensure it continues to provide the best possible help to residents.
"We are already in partnership with the Lancashire Learning and Skills Council who have seconded a full time worker to the Access Point.
"We will work very closely with most of the other agencies. This study provides a real way forward."
The current funding package ends in March next year but the council has already made a number of other funding applications.
Coun Wolski said they were optimistic that those would enable the Access Point to continue ,especially with the results of the study to back up the bids.
