A TIME capsule dressed as a baby was pushed from Holy Trinity Church in Colne to the town's Asda store by members of the Pendle Deanery Mothers' Union
The 'Journey of Hope' began in June at Westminster Abbey and it followed a service in the Abbey to mark the 125the anniversary of Mary Sumner's founding the Mothers' Union.
After a supermarket service conducted by the Rev Lynn McGregor the capsule boarded a vintage bus.
The presiding member, Mrs Margaret Taylor, and the Mayor of Pendle, Coun Colin Waite, and Mothers' Union members accompanied the capsule on its drive through the parishes of Pendle.
The capsule contains the Mothers' Union mission statement and aims which are to support marriage and family life especially where it has run into problems.
Mrs Taylor said: "We hoped to raise awareness of the work which the Mothers' Union members do.
"There are more than a million members world-wide and they are involved in a wide range of projects.
"We volunteer in hospitals, prisons and contact centres and also run parenting courses.
"The Mothers' Union is also involved in debt counselling and drug awareness."
