CITY were disappointed not to come away with all three points from their visit to Lancashire rivals Bamber Bridge on Tuesday night.
Particularly frustrating for City was the fact that a player who is still on their books -- former Morecambe keeper Andy Banks -- did more than most to keep them out, playing on loan for the home side.
Brian Butler opened the scoring on 15 minutes, but City were hit by a sucker punch on 52 minutes, with an Andy Moran shot deflecting past Mark Thornley. Boss Tony Hesketh said: "It was a game that we expected to win and which we should have won but without Any Whittaker we just seemed to lack that cutting edge."
The result left City in third place, with a game in hand over leaders Burton Albion and second placed Gateshead.
RESULT: Bamber Bridge ...1 Lancaster City... 1
