RAWTENSTALL firefighters will be holding a collection on Sunday for families of their American colleagues who lost their lives in the New York terrorist attack.
They are hoping for support from the thousands expected to attend the annual Rossendale Motor Bike Show.
They will be collecting opposite the fire station on Queens Square.
Fire officer Paul Haworth said: "The proceeds will be sent to the New York firefighters appeal fund to hopefully give some assistance to the dependants of those firefighters who selflessly gave their lives in the service of the public at the World Trade Centre disaster.
"Any donations no matter how small will be greatly welcome."
