A NINE-year-old boy was today off the critical list after he collided with a car.
Faheem Patel, of Granville Road, Blackburn, was seriously injured after the collision with a car in Preston New Road, at the junction of Lancaster Place, Blackburn, on Sunday.
The Wensley Fold Primary School pupil was going on to the road to collect his football.
He was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary before being transferred to Pendlebury Children's Hospital in Manchester, where he was placed on the intensive care ward.
His parents, Abdul and Sabida, and Faheem's three brothers and one sister kept a bedside vigil.
His uncle, Abdul, who owns a newsagents on New Bank Road, close to the accident scene, said today his nephew was doing well.
He said: "Faheem is off the intensive care ward and the hospital is thinking of transferring him back to Blackburn.
"The family is very relieved.
"The accident was a great shock."
