CURIOUS visitors to Radcliffe Market may have noticed some of the goods on display were past their sell-by date by 4,000 years!
Bury's museum development officer Mr Ronan Brindley manned a "stall" there earlier this month to generate interest in Radcliffe's proposed £6 million museum and market hall.
On display were a number of artefacts from the town archives, including stone age flints and axe-heads along with more recent reminders of Radcliffe's industries.
Mr Brindley said: "The purpose of the day was to let local people know about just what an interesting history Radcliffe has and to take on board any suggestions they had about what they would like to see in the museum."
Members of Bury Young Person's Housing Link who live in the old town hall were also involved in helping and supplied information about various sites of historical interest in and around the town.
