A DAY of fun demonstrations and activities is taking place all under one roof in Bury next weekend.
A Mosses Open Day will give a taste of some of the pastimes and leisure pursuits which are regularly staged at the Cecil Street venue.
Bury mayor Councillor Paul Nesbit and his wife, Joyce, are expected to open the event, which will run from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, September 29.
Performances by the the Zambura Samba Band will complement a series of live demonstrations by the cine society, youth club dance troupe, writers club and judo, ju-jitsu, tai chi and table tennis groups.
Visitors will be able to try their hand at a variety of activities, including computer use, machine knitting, over-50 sports, samba drumming and dance, self defence, sequence dancing and Zen meditation.
There will also be information stands for organisations such as the advanced motorists, jazz society, over-50s clubs and youth and special needs groups.
The event has been arranged by Mosses Community Association. The centre can be contacted on 761 2079 for details.
