A BURGLAR and thief who also flouted probation orders, is behind bars for a total of six months.
David Mark Kelly, 26, had failed to respond to previous sentences, he was told by Burnley magistrates.
Kelly, of Crowther Street, Burnley, had been convicted of failing to comply with a probation order, burglary with intent to steal, failing to surrender to custody, three charges of handling stolen goods, two counts of stealing from shop premises and destroying or damaging property.
John Greenwood, defending, said Kelly accepted the inevitable custodial sentence.
Kelly had spent two weeks on remand in custody and felt better as he had been off drugs.
He did not intend to return to Burnley on his release and wanted to get as far away as he could from the town.
