OLDER people in Pendle are being urged not to miss out on a £5 million hand-out.
Over 60s who qualify for a £200 winter cash boost this week are being urged not to be left out in the cold.
Last year 34,102 payments were made to older people in Pendle, providing a total of £5,097,00 help with fuel bills.
Most people get their bills automaticall but, in the qualifying week for winter fuel payments, pensions minister Ian McCartney said older people should check to make sure they don't miss out.
Some people, men between the ages of 60-65 who had not claimed before and people who had changed their address, may have to claim.
Anyone who is unsure can contact a helpline on 08459 151515.
