PRIZES have been presented to winners of competitions at the hugely successful Nelson Food Festival.
They were handed out by the Mayor of Pendle Coun Colin Waite who commented: "This is part of our bid to boost local food businesses and put Lancashire on the food map."
Competition organiser Nina Pinder from Pendle Council's regeneration team said the cheese competition was extremely popular, asking people their favourite ways of enjoying Lancashire cheese.
Winner of a £25 Morrison's hamper was Rita Parker of Nelson who recommended grating Lancashire cheese on a piece of haddock and cooking it in the oven.
Farmhouse biscuits competition winner was Susan Johnson of Skipton and a Paul Heathcote "Rhubarb and Black Pudding" book was won by driving instructor Keith Tomlinson of Reedley.
Children's competition winner was 12-year-old Mehwish Ibrahim of Nelson.
