MEMBERS of the Save Our Bus Station campaign (SOBS) are holding a public consultation meeting on Saturday, September 22, from 11am-3.30pm at Preston CVS, Prince's Building, Lancaster Road, Preston.
Visitors will be shown a map of the Tithebarn area and be able to make suggestions, some of which will be sent to Preston Borough Council for consideration.
The bus station is currently being considered for listed status, which, if approved could jeopardise the council's plans for the multi-million pound revamp of the Tithebarn Regeneration Area.
SOBS member Tony Reid, of Grafton Street, Preston, said: "This meeting will give the public a chance to say whether or not it should be demolished and suggest any ways they think it can be improved."
Council leader Ian Hall said the authority had already committed itself to maintaining a bus station facility in the Tithebarn area.
He said: "Unfortunately, if the building is listed, then many of the improvements as suggested at this consultation will be restricted due to extra red tape. Non-listing -- as supported by the council -- would enable a range of options to be considered."
