BURY-based fire resisting ductwork specialist Senior Hargreaves is more than demonstrating its firm commitment to safety.
The company, which has its headquarters in Lord Street, has initiated a rolling training programme with independent providers FIRAS (the Fire Accreditation Scheme).
This organisation is a division of the internationally-acclaimed fire test laboratory, Warrington Fire Research.
With 32 installers and supervisors now trained, Hargreaves has more qualified installation personnel than any other fire duct manufacturer.
Hargreaves director Mr David Lowe said: "We take our responsibilities to clients and to the professional specifiers who recommend our systems extremely seriously and see this scheme as a vital additional safeguard."
The training scheme is fully supported by the Heating and Ventilation Contractors Association (HVCA).
Formal training covers the basic principles of fire, fire testing, building regulations and practical aspects of installation.
Contractors such as Hargreaves, who are accredited to the scheme, are subject to random site visits to check that they conform to best practice and that the trained installers are following all the correct procedures.
