A FREE health check day for the over 55's has been organised in Darwen.
The event, which is part of Age Concern Week 2001, will take place at Derwent Hall from 10am to 2pm on October 5.
Age Concern and Darwen Old People's Welfare Committee are working in partnership with Blackburn with Darwen Primary Care Trust to provide access to free health MOT checks.
Qualified heath practitioners will be on hand to check people's weight and blood pressure and to discuss any particular health worries.
In addition a range of health information and details about Age Concern's services will also be available.
Local solicitors Watson's will also be at the event to offer advice relating to making a will. Appointments must be made as numbers are limited.
