THE first pupils of Blackthorn School in Bacup are being invited to meet up for a Christmas reunion.
Two years ago the class of '39 held a reunion to celebrate the diamond jubilee of the school and 54 people attended the A B & D Centre including a couple from Australia, Devon, Manchester and all over Lancashire.
Irene Noble, Morley as was, is hoping to get a group together to have a reunion at Christmas time.
Mrs Noble, 73, from Healey Corner, near Whitworth, said: "It was lovely to see everyone but when there are so many people you don't really get the chance to speak to them all and it would be nice to see each other again."
"I thought we could arrange to have lunch or tea and even if we just get 20 people it will be nice."
After Blackthorn Mrs Noble went to Whitworth, Halifax and then to Canada for 25 years before returning to Lancashire.
Anyone from the first years will now be aged between 73 and 75. Former pupils can contact Mrs Noble on 01706 666158.
