THE romance of the FA Vase returns for Denis Underwood as Great Harwood entertain North East Lancs side Shildon in the second round.
Having reached the quarter finals as a player with Great Harwood and led Clitheroe to Wembley in 1996, Underwood knows anything is possible in this competition.
He said: "With Clitheroe we got to the final and I didn't have any forwards and I wondered how we got there. Now I know anything is achievable but at this stage you just take it one game at a time.
"If your still in it in the New Year then that is when you start watching your opponents because you know you are in with a chance."
New striker Kristian Trippier may get a run out as long as he is clear to play in the competition.
Underwood joked: "I got a good look at Kristian in training this week because I went in goal. He didn't get that many past me but I told him not to be too disheartened because there aren't that many keepers as good as me!"
