BURY'S own musical battle, the annual Powersound competition, found the girls beating the boys.
P6, the female group from Prestwich, won first place and the prize of £250 worth of equipment ahead of the Bury based male group, NAU-T.
NAU-T won the consolation prize of £150 worth of equipment as their runners up prize. Third spot went to female soloist, Candice from Radcliffe together with a prize worth £100.
This year's grand finale, which took place at the Radcliffe Civic Suite, was sponsored by Doctor Rock Ltd., the Stars in Your Eyes Agency and Britvic Soft Drinks.
