MEMBERS of Hoghton WI observed a minute's silence in memory of member Doris Harrison, who died recently, and for those who have suffered in the American disaster. Jim Halsall took members down memory lane on two virtual tram rides during his talk.
Members heard recent fund-raising had raised £100 for the Lancashire Air Ambulance and that the success of two painting on silk workshops had resulted in more being organised in the future. Joan Houghton was thanked for the summer ramble she organised.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday, October 11, when Eunice Clark will give a talk on 'The Other Side of the Counter'. Visitors and new members are always welcome. For more details ring 01254 853585.
