Leek Town 0 Radcliffe Boro 3

Competent throughout, tight at the back, hardworking in midfield and class up front Boro are beginning to look the real deal.

They dominated this Friday night Unibond Division One clash. With Simon Kelly in for his first start of the season Boro always seemed to have an extra gear. The opener on 14 minutes was a swerving 25 yard effort from Jody Banim and on 69 minutes Eamonn Elliott rifled a beauty in from a half-cleared corner for the second. The killer third came on 84 minutes when Richard Landon flicked on a long throw for Banim to volley home >from six yards. Full back Rick Battersby got the man of the match vote.

Daisy Hill 1 Stone Dominoes 3

Daisy never looked likely to make an impression on the Staffordshire outfit. Stone dominated the first half and took a two goal lead. Barry Edwardson got a goal back early in the second period and Daisy went on to have a good spell but without creating much. On 72 minutes Dominoes broke away to get their third and Daisy,s misery was complete when Carl Dermott,s penalty was well saved after Edwardson had been fouled. Midfielder Steve Ellaby got the star performer vote.

Ramsbottom Utd 4 Maine Road 1

The Rams produced their best performance of the season to date to register a fine win over a strong Maine Road side. It was the perfect start for Mike Kelly,s side as Russell Brierley scored in the very first minute. Just after the break the visitors levelled only for David Yorke- Robinson to restore the lead within sixty seconds. Danny Goodall made it 3-1 on 75 minutes and on 82 Yorke-Robinson got the fourth. Both sides had a player sent off with Rams, substitute Brad Franks departing in the last minute for bringing an opponent down who was clean through on goal.

Curzon Ashton 5 Atherton Colls 2

To say Colls started well and finished poorly would be a massive understatement. They were 2-0 up after just two minutes, stood all square at 2-2 on 90 but conceded three in extra time to exit the FA Vase in the Second Qualifier Round. Nicky Fisher and Martin Sloan got that dream start but by the break it was 2-1. Missed chances, particularly Sloan once and Steve Denny twice, saw Curzon level in the 89th minute, take the lead in the first minute of overtime and get two late on as Colls were forced to push forward. Midfielder Frank Smith got the man of the match vote. Colls entertain Mossley tonight, kick off 7.45pm.

Winterton Rangers 0 Atherton LR 1

LR nearly paid a heavy price for lack of a cutting edge up front. Alan Lord,s side took the lead on nine minutes through Barry Massay. Penalty appeals were ignored as the LR striker appeared to be fouled but in the mayhem Mike Rhead picked up the loose ball and set Massay up to inflict full revenge. Rovers went on the dominate but attack after attack fizzled out in the opposing penalty area. That one goal was fortunately enough to put LR into the next round of the Vase. Midfielder Steve Strange won the best player award.
