ILL-DISCIPLINE on the football field has provided a cash boost for Pendleside Hospice, Reedley.
Every time a red or yellow card was shown to players in the Pendle Charity Sunday Football League money went into the hospice coffers.
The League is to present £1,000 made up mainly from fines handed out to players during the season.
Hospice fund-raising manager Kaye Battle said it was a unique way of raising money for the hospice.
The money will be handed over at Alter Street WMC, Brierfield, on Wednesday.
Kaye said: "We are very pleased we are getting this money from the league. It's a very unusual way of raising money and I should imagine none of the players who are fined would mind quite so much knowing that their money is helping a worthwhile cause."
