THE success of an East Lancashire carpet manufacturer went under the national spotlight when a BBC TV production team visited Cavalier Carpets.
The daily business magazine programme "Working Lunch", which attracts an audience of more than a million viewers on BBC2, filmed all aspects of the Blackburn company's operations.
Producer Lynne Jones co-ordinated the shoot from a mobile studio in the Cavalier car park.
She said: "We wanted to put the focus on the UK carpet industry in general and try to find out how a company like Cavalier Carpets was managing to prosper in such dificult trading times. After a lot of research, the on-going success of Cavalier Carpets and the way the company operates really jumped out at us."
The Birmingham-based crew filmed at the firm's two sites on Thompson Street and Selous Road and recorded a report which went out before a live interview with sales director John Richardson.
"It was excellent to receive such national recognition," said John. "We are all working hard for success here and being featured on a programme like this shows the nation just how far we have come.
"The programme made great play of how we have managed to develop our business despite working in a shrinking market."
