A PERSISTENT offender, said to be "susceptible to the influence of others," was sent to prison when he appeared before Blackburn magistrates on theft and handling charges.
Anthony Hart, 19, of Abraham Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to stealing groceries from KwikSave in Accrington and handling a sleeping bag stolen from a car.
He was sentenced to 30 days on each offence, with a further 30 days, the unexpired part of a recent prison sentence. All three will run consecutively.
Roger Pickles, defending, said Hart accepted that custody was inevitable.
"He is 19 years of age and has no education, no training," he said.
"In fact, no life skills whatsoever."
