POLICE were today trying to trace the parents of a woman who suffered serious head injuries in a road smash.
A spokesperson said they were believed to be on holiday in America.
The woman, who has not been named, was driving a Fiat Cinquecento out of a side road when she was in collision with a Vauxhall Novano being driven along Belmont Road towards Blackburn. She was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital where she was said to be poorly. Her husband was at her bedside
Police said the driver of the Vauxhall, Gavin Entwistle, 24, of Belmont Road, Belmont, suffered only slight injuries in the collision. The Fiat left the road and hit trees and fencing.
