DARWEN boss Steve Wilkes will be looking for a positive reaction from his troops as they take on Colne at the Anchor Ground tonight.
Following their 5-0 home FA Vase reversal at the hands of neighbours Bacup on Saturday, Wilkes has promised changes will be made.
However, what he probably wants to see most is a change in attitude from his players for the NWCL Division Two clash against another of their local rivals.
"There was just a total lack of professionalism from some people on Saturday and I have never felt as upset as I did that night," said Wilkes.
"There will be changes. We conceded four against Formby last Tuesday and then conceded five at the weekend.
"So we have got to improve. We cannot put it down as one of those days."
Colne - who struggled last season but are looker a stronger outfit this term - will provide another stiff test, but Wilkes will be sending his side out with the message that they must perform as a team.
"What we need is for some of the more experienced players to take on board the responsibility," said Wilkes.
"The problem we have is that there are a few people blaming other people for what has gone wrong."
While Wilkes is thinking about his defence, Padiham boss Graham Howarth will be looking for his side to end their goal drought tonight at Castleton.
Having failed to score in six of nine league games the Storks will be looking to improve their goal ratio and pick up some points after Saturday's disappointing 2-0 defeat by Norton United at the Arbories.
Also looking to bounce back after defeat are Stand. They slipped out of the FA Vase at the second qualifying round stage on Saturday as they went down 3-2 in extra time to Humberside outfit Hall Road Rangers. They seek to pick up league points tonight, and increase their lead at the top of the second division, when they travel to struggling Chadderton.
