REGARDING your report (LET, September 6), I am not surprised at the plague of rats in some parts of Hyndburn.
One only has to go round Hyndburn to see bin bags containing rubbish dumped in back streets along with other rubbish not in bags.
It's time we had an officer in Hyndburn to monitor the use of refuse bins outside various properties. The zero tolerance that council leader Peter Britcliffe recommends is long overdue.
It would be nice to know that when we have a complaint someone would take notice of us, but, from past experience, this doesn't seem to be the case.
