LEE Sculpher can do no wrong right now at Clitheroe.
The player-boss, who took over from Dave Burgess earlier this month, has seen his side win four out of four - all away from home.
Last night NWCL Division One strugglers Fleetwood were the latest to succumb but the Blues boss admitted it was a less-than-convincing performance.
"It was probably the worst display since I took charge," he admitted. "We started well and created plenty of chances but in the second half we let them get at us and we were hanging on in the end when we should have had the game wrapped up."
Clitheroe took the lead after just eight minutes when Richard Fogarty cashed in on a mistake from the Fleetwood keeper.
Barry Hart crossed from the left flank and the keeper dropped the ball for Fogarty to knock it in from a couple of yards.
Neil Spencer, Neil Reynolds and Fogarty all missed good chances to put the game beyond doubt even before the interval.
But as Clitheroe's chances came and went they had to thank keeper Kris Richens for pulling off a save late in the game that ensured victory.
"Fleetwood worked very hard and made life difficult for us but we stuck at it and deserved the win," said Sculpher.
His men face a stern test at home to a St Helens side, who have a 100 per cent record, on Saturday.
RESULT: FLEETWOOD...0 CLITHEROE...1
