PEOPLE in Darwen have been able to visit an information and advice stand run by Darwen Access Point (DAP) in the town hall foyer this week.

DAP is a free service which gives people advice and information on employment, education and training and is based on Duckworth Street in the town. Staff from DAP have been at the town hall foyer for three days this week to explain to people what DAP does and to give advice.

Centre co-ordinator at DAP Diane Gottweiss said so far there had been a good response with people looking at the job vacancies displayed and asking for help in applying for jobs.

She said: "We hope to run more of these events in the future. It means we can make people more aware of the services we have on offer and the fact that it is a free service for residents in the area."

The last day of the event will be tomorrow and people can visit the information and display stand at the town hall between 1pm and 4pm.
