A SPECIAL event is to be held to mark the 10th anniversary of Age Concern's care and repair project in Rossendale.
The title for the event is improving housing, improving health, improving lives and it will be held at the A, B & D Centre, in Bacup, on October 1 from noon.
Tracy Turner, Age Concern's care and repair officer, said: "For the past 10 years the Rossendale Care and Repair Project has been helping older home owners in the Valley to improve the quality of their lives and to remain independent in their own homes by providing advice and practical support with home repairs.
"The availability of this invaluable help to local older home owners has been largely due to the support that has been provided by the borough council during this time such as free office space, fees on grant-aided work and annual grants towards the running costs of the projects main home improvement agency service, and more recently the handy person small repairs service."
The Mayor and Mayoress of Rossendale, Coun Jimmy Grogan and his wife Lois, will officially open the event.
Short presentations will be given by Rossendale Council, Lancashire County Council Social Services Department and East Lancashire Health Authority. Group discussions will follow.
