LEIGH jobseekers have a new hi-tech Jobpoints service to make finding work - all over the world - easier.
The traditional rows of display boards and cards at Twist Lane have been replaced with electronic touch terminals which have access to every Jobcentre vacancy in the country - over 40,000 posts.
Manager, Sarah Pilkington, said: "The points will prove a tremendous help. They are quick and easy to use and have been designed with wheelchair users in mind.
"People now have the flexibility to look for work anywhere in the country and have access to European and international vacancies too - at the touch of a screen."
The jobpoints are as easy to use as cash machines with simple step by step instructions for the user to follow, and staff will be on hand to help anyone unsure of the new technology.
Once the jobseeker has selected vacancies to apply for they can be discussed with a member of staff. Alternatively they can ring the vacancy call centre Employment Service Direct on 0845 6060 234 and an adviser will help them to apply.
