ST JOHN'S Stonefold Church of England Primary School, Rising Bridge, has received a glowing report from OFSTED.
Following an inspection in June, the school has been praised for the very good attitude of the pupils, the high standards of behaviour and good relationships within the school which all make a significant contribution to the learning environment.
The report commends the teaching standards and comments on the valuable contribution of support staff to the levels of learning.
Links with the community, including the church, Groundwork and local businesses were highlighted. The work carried out with Groundwork on the 'Ducky', a piece of waste ground, enabled the pupils to make an outstanding contribution to the environment.
Contacts with other schools were also found to be effective in raising awareness of the values and traditions of other cultures and were found to be a very good, practical way to promote racial harmony.
A spokesman said staff were delighted with the report which acknowledged their good practice and gave the pupils the recognition they deserve.
