FUN will be part of the equation for two Blackpool primary schoolchildren who have won free maths scholarships.
Joel Wojkiewicz, aged 8, and Jessica Kearns, aged 10, both pupils at St John Vianney Catholic Primary School on Glastonbury Avenue, have won a year's free tuition in Kumon Maths, an after-school maths programme studied by 33,000 students across the UK. Joel and Jessica will attend the study centre twice a week after school from this month.
Susan Osborne, instructor at the Blackpool Kumon study centre, said: "It will provide the children with the opportunity to develop their confidence and ability in maths in a fun atmosphere."
