CHORISTERS hope to hit a high note when they open their lungs and hymn books in aid of church improvements.
Members of the choir at Bury United Reformed Church will sing 66 hymns in four hours on Saturday (Sept 29), in a sponsored bid to raise money for their building fund. Renovations at the church have already taken place, to protect it from the elements and provide disabled access, and funds are needed to swell church coffers.
Choir member Mrs Jean Pattie said: "Hymn books will be available, and anyone who is passing can come along and join in for a bit if they want."
As well as a craft stall, a coffee stall will also be open to provide refreshment for tired vocal chords. The sponsored sing takes place at the Rochdale Road church from 10.30am until 2.30pm.
