SHAKERS mascot Robbie the Bobby got his marching orders on Saturday (Sept 22) after being accused of stoking up visiting fans.
Costumed Jonathan Pollard, pictured in his outfit, was escorted from Gigg Lane by stewards after "mooning" at about 2,000 Stoke City fans and allegedly gesturing at them.
He was bundled down the tunnel and ejected from the ground shortly before half-time. But the 26-year-old plumber, whose character is named after founder of the police force, Sir Robert Peel, was in no mood to concede defeat when criticised for inciting away fans.
He said: "It was just a bit of fun. I showed my backside to the crowd and the stewards told me not to do it again.
"Then, I ran past the fans after they scored and I got manhandled off the field."
He added: " I can't understand it. I've been told off for entertaining the crowd and making them shout too loud."
