CAN Mr Shaun Woodward MP, or anyone else please explain what has happened over Ravenhead Company?
Until the other week, Mr Woodward said that although the buyer they found had backed out of the sale, this was not the end for Ravenhead Glass.
Now I read a few days later that the company is to be broken up and the machinery sold, or should I say given away, to the highest bidder.
Could Mr Woodward not find friends willing to invest in a profit-making company with a solid future in the market place? And if not, could he not have put some of his money where his mouth is as they say, and back the workers of St Helens he represents?
His critics had a lot to say when he changed sides from Conservative to Labour, and he asked for a chance to prove his worth.
Well, I, and thousands like me, decided to give him the chance and voted for him. I feel it is a great pity that he fell at the first hurdle as I still think that he does care about people.
PROUD wife of long-serving Ravenhead employee,
Thatto Heath.
