I ASSUME that you will receive numerous letters concerning Ian Dobson and his questionable advertising material which had been displayed on his market stall.
I am at a loss to understand the weight of justice applied to a market stall holder who had used a display made from pieces of cardboard and who has now been removed from the market and I assume has had his livelihood curtailed and councillors who have been involved with the loss of very substantial amounts of public monies in Blobbygate, Salt Ayre and of course as reported once more in last week's Citizen the saga of David Christley.
Possibly it would have been more appropriate to ask Mr Dobson just to remove the offending materials, as nothing so draconian has happened to the above councillors or to our member of parliament.
May I point out that in the Peoples Republic of China, where I have been living and working, the above town hall officials would now be doing hard labour until they admitted to and learned from the error of their ways, whereas Mr Dobson would have received a ticking off.

It would be remiss of me to fail to point out that blame (should there be any) for the Blobbygate scandal has not yet been apportioned by the district auditor so we cannot prejudge that particular issue. The fact is though that there is enough evidence of wrongdoing and incompetence among a number of officers and councillors at the town hall in the past few years to warrant severe sanction and none has been forthcoming -- you do have a say... kick up a fuss, demand answers or kick 'em out! - Ed
