RADCLIFFE pop star Suzanne Shaw dramatically collapsed after a weekend in which she performed three shows at the MEN Arena with Hear'Say.

But her father, Mr Vinnie Crowshaw, has played down reports that her gruelling work schedule is to blame.

"She called in to see me on Sunday (Sept 23) and she had a bit of a cold. Danny (a fellow band member) has also been suffering with one," said Mr Crowshaw of Dunsters Avenue, Bury.

Suzanne collapsed at Heathrow Airport on Monday (Sept 24) after a flight from Manchester. She fainted as she walked to the group's van and was very nearly hit by a car, but a quick-acting minder scooped her up. A spokesman for the group confirmed that Suzanne had a dizzy spell after suffering from a bad cold. She has since been given the all-clear by a doctor and will continue the tour. Besides the three Manchester concerts, part of a gruelling 31-date tour, Hear'Say are also recording their second album and making a TV show entitled Hear'Say It's Saturday.

It's been non-stop for Suzanne and fellow band members Myleene Klass, Kym Marsh, Danny Foster and Noel Sullivan since they were hurled into the limelight at the beginning of the year after appearing in the Popstars TV series.

They recorded a debut album, had two number one hits, Pure and Simple and The Way To Your Love, performed at The Brits and carried out endless promotional duties.

Hear'Say books and merchandise are already in the shops and the next marketing tool will be dolls of Suzanne and the rest of the group.
