FORMER taxi driver Naeem Akhtar was brutally honest with police who arrested him after witnessing a bizarre pattern of driving.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Akhtar said to the officer who stopped him: "I'm out of my head, please prosecute me."
The court heard that Akhtar had first been seen driving his car the wrong way off the M65 slip road at Riversway Drive, Darwen. There was an empty bottle of whisky on the back seat.
Akhtar, 35, of Dartford Close, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and failing to provide a specimen for analysis. He was bailed for the preparation of pre-sentence reports.
Michael Blacklidge, defending, said Akhtar had given up taxi driving after having his left leg amputated and suffering a heart attack.
A combination of alcohol and medication had been responsible for his condition on the night he was stopped.
