Haydock Warriors U/16s 22, Royton Tigers 20: Haydock produced a fine team display to overturn a physical Oldham side.
Haydock conceded an early try, but hit back with a Chris Dyson try in the corner after good work from Craig Tipene, converted by Arrowsmith.
Haydock dominated the rest of the half, and good handling resulted in a brace of tries for man of the match Stephen Arrowsmith and Matthew Allen, to take the score to 22-8 at the break.
Royton applied all the pressure in the second half and only astute defence from Haydock contained them to only two further tries.
Hardworking hooker Daniel Rimmer, Kevin Hughes, Greg Holland, Chris Lloyd and debutants Chris Gedney and Jamie Stockley also played well.
